This morning has been quite productive. I finally called and scheduled a dentist appointment for Asher with Dr. B, a local pediatric specialist who works with special needs children. They can’t see him until February because of how they schedule patients (they take one day a month and dedicate it to SN kids – they schedule fewer appointments to allow more time with each child, which I like), but we’re on a quick-call list in case something opens up. I know I’m past due on this, but it’s a miracle that I even took the initiative to schedule it with everything else we have to juggle on a weekly basis.

Then I called Dr. S’s office and scheduled Asher’s 18-month well child checkup, which will be next month. Again, I’m running about two months behind on this one, but at least we’re getting it in.

Finally, I called Vanderbilt’s pediatric neurology department to request prior authorization for one of Asher’s prescriptions (Keppra). The pharmacy has told us twice now that they would call and get it, and both times we’ve come back in the next month and it still hasn’t been done. I do like our pharmacy in general, but dealing with monthly meds and various insurance companies with frequently changing policies can be a hassle.

So, all of this before 10:00AM. I’m rather pleased with myself as I hate talking on the phone. Now it’s time to enjoy the rest of my OJ.
